China Mall II

China Mall I

This is China Mall in China Town. China Town is situated in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. It is in zone 2 area. Used to go here once a week just to buy daily groceries especially from Yuens Supermarket where we buy our 'Mee Goreng IndoMie', salted duck eggs, Thai Chillies (depend on availability), can foods (sardines and clams), fresh fishs ('Tenggiri' Aud$15.99/kg and the price can go up), prawns (Aud$9.99/kg), crabs ('katam Kalok' Aud$29.99/kg) and many more. Mentioning the crab... I never eat crabs here because can't afford to buy a kilo of crabs. Wait till I go home.... LOL. Ok lets continue, Ismail Halal Meats is nearby China Mall where he sells beefs and chickens. The best part is he sells chicken wings at Aud$2.99/kg where I find it really cheap compared to Brunei. So, we used to buy a few kilos of chicken wings for a week stocks in the frigde. Sometimes, when too much of chicken menus at home, I can become 'Langgu'.

Cathedral Place

Back in July 2006, I rented one of the apartment in Cathedral Place. I lived in first floor, room number F 11, Duhig Building. Why was the name given Cathedral Place? Cathedral Place was built on the site of what was once to be a cathedral. The history of the formerly proposed Holy Name Cathedral site is a fascinating story about the aspirations of a generation of Catholics and their archbishop to build Brisbane's finest cathedral.

Queensland University of Technology

All these pictures were taken by Mr.J.Y. a Bruneian Photographer while he was here in Brisbane for 2 weeks. This university is situated in Kelvin Grove suburb. My apartment (The Village Centre) was only less then 10 minutes walk.

Construction in progress

This is the future student accomodation in Queensland University of Technology in Kelvin Grove. I hope it will be complete by 2008, so maybe who knows I can rent one of the room before I complete my study by mid 2009.

Australian House

Along Victoria Park Road, a few antique looking houses were build here. This one is my favourite. Its wooden fence and entrance looks so amazing.
